Digital paintings are delivered electronically. You will get a jpg file and a pdf (high res) copy. You will also get a release so that you can print your painting without trouble. What do you do with a digital painting? (most everyone here understands this, but I copied this from my website) Well, the sky is the limit here. You can have them printed on anything from posters to tshirts. This is a great option if you want to do fundraising (only charities may do this with my artwork). Digital paintings can be used for logos, web graphics, customizing just about everything from keychains to tire covers, and can always be re-printed as long as you keep backups of your file. This way if anything ever happens to a print out you've made, like if you lost your printout in a house fire, you could always get another copy of it printed. I will allow digital paintings at these prices to be used as business logos, but you may not resell the work for any reason (don't make prints of it and sell them, tshirts, whatever - unless you are a charity). I'm probably not going to hunt you down if you sell my work without my permission, but please be respectful. I retain copywrite to all my work (unless we have a specific, special, written/typed contract stating otherwise), but will grant you the right to use it
If you have questions about this, feel free to ask me! I don't bite and I try to be pretty cool. All digital work will have my digital stamp. PAYMENT
- Paypal payment must be made to email@example.com up front unless we specifically agree to do otherwise. If you have doubts you may ask any of my other customers - they will vouch for me. I am very strict about this because my time cannot be given back to me. I spend anywhere from hours to days on a painting and this is not a hobby on the side - this is my whole income. I do not get paid vacations or benefits so please do not ask me to lower prices or to wait on payment. I do not charge enough for my work to warrant a 50/50 deposit system. The only exception here may be if you order over $500 worth of artwork. IMPORTANT NOTE: I do not offer money back on my work. You cannot refund the time I spend on your painting. So carefully consider your commission. Look through my gallery and make sure you like my work and that you feel I can do what you have in mind. If you have doubts, please ask me about it before you make payment. I am willing to make edits but be timely about requesting them. Don't wait until you've had your painting for two weeks and then come back to ask for edits. Bad things happen and between now and then something could happen to the source file. I won't be real strict about this, but I won't promise edits after two weeks. I will work on a commission until you are completely satisfied, just don't wait to request those changes! I'm repeating this because it's important. I don't want to see anyone stuck with something they are not completely happy with. REFERENCE IMAGES
: Should be high-res and show eye color and important markings clearly. The best photos for reference are not blurry, taken in outdoor lighting, and show both sides of the face (pets and people are usually not symmetrical). If you are in doubt, send extra images and/or describe the pets in your email. They go to firstname.lastname@example.org. Do you have bad images or only one image to work with? We can talk about it! Just because you don't have high res refs doesn't mean I cannot do your painting. It will likely take more time for me, but I will not upcharge paintings that have to be done from less than desirable references. In these cases, good communication from you about the animal you want painted will be very important. If you need to mail photos, we can talk about that.
