Doing awesome! Got a lot of likes on my facebook page now and it keeps my busy with constant commissions - both good and bad because I can pay bills with art but have less time than I did even before! Buuuut - I got to livestream Fluffington's book cover and that is a personal project of mine that I was finally able to get a chance to do. I have to post it up here to dA soon but I want to tweak it a tiny bit first!
Yay! I'm glad to hear things are going well with your commissions! . Hopefully they're fun ones to make. I've been trying to figure out how I can get more of a business going lol. I'll have to check that out when you post it!
My business (this is going to sound sad) is 100% powered by facebook. Because I paint pet portraits it's a very personal business to people. I find groups of animal lovers and show my work there. Also, whenever I paint someone's pet, I post it on my facebook page. They tend to share their pet picture to all of their pet loving friends who come to my page and commission paintings of their own pets. It grows like that via word of mouth for the most part. Having a niche and finding those people to paint for - and having a specialty - those are the things that get me commissions. If you do make a facebook page I'll 'like' it for sure. And if you end up putting an animal painting on it, I'll feature it for you to try and help you drum up some more likes/business, too
That's not sad at all, that's a really smart way to get business and it looks like it's working really well for you . I actually made a facebook page already, I just haven't fixed it up and uploaded enough to show it off yet lol. Thanks for the advice and I would really appreciate it if you did that! You are super awesome
Awww thank you. I was starting to get worried people would begin getting sick of seeing all these paintings (I do one almost every day) and I didn't want to loose watchers because I bombarded their inbox. But I would be perfectly happy to keep sending them along.
Naah, I don't think that's the case... As for me I always get inspired to paint my dog when I see your paintings but then again I don't do it 'cause I lack experience and he has too many shades and so I always fail XD
